Safira was hospitalized for several weeks after the Tsunami and with the help of International Aid, teddies warmed the hearts of children in Sri Lanka and Banda Aceh whose homes, in fact whole villages, were distroyed.
It is not only children of the U. S. who are effected by war...but also the thousands of youngsters who are injured, frightened or just lost in a world at war in their own back yard. Teddies are sent and given by our troops and hospital staff to youngsters in need in Iraq.
At Risk Children in Australia learned to appreciate the care and concern of others through the hugs of teddies. It takes a lot of work but counselors were amazed with the results...the soften, the conversations that followed, the edge was dropped.
