Sue Lucarelli Founder and Director of Hugs Across America, Inc.
This June, after 18 years of teaching Special Ed., Sue retired from her work at The Churchill School in Manhattan. As the former President of Parent Advocates for Special Ed., a child therapist and Director of the Mental Health Clinic for Big Brothers of NYC, Sue is an avid supporter of children's issues.
A graduate of Miami University of Ohio undergrad, and Smith College where she received her Master's in psychiatric social work, Sue went on to complete study in Special Ed at Fordham U. in NY. In addition to teaching and developing the Hugs charity, she is the author of "T. Bear's Tale" Hugs Across America", a story of those three little bears who came to NY to comfort children after 9/11, and an elder at the Manhasset Reformed Church. The mother of two children, Sue can occasionally be found on the golf course with her husband Nick, or gardening.
