My name is jake behr. i was 4 years old when 9/11 occurred, and in spite of my young age at the time, i still remember the events of that day in clear detail. the day following the attacks, my school (early childhood center) had their hands full with numerous young children who had their morning kids shows interrupted and also saw the attacks. many of us were obviously traumatized by that day. hugs across america came to my school the day after and gave us teddy bears. i named mine "baby bear" and i still have him, he lives on my bed. i'm 19 now, and getting ready to join the navy sometime next year, and i wanted to acknowledge the good deeds that this organization does for kids. these bears truly mean something, god bless you all! and i'm more the certain i'll be bringing my bear to sea with me when the time comes. :} - midshipman behr, united states naval sea cadet corps, original recipient

Hello, my son Matt (8) recently had a lemonade stand and raised money specifically to buy stuffed animals for sick children and children in crisis. With his money raised you will be able to buy approximately 8-10 bears for kids. matt's school bus crashed 3 years ago and luckily nobody was seriously hurt. Although he still has nightmares, We are grateful for his safety and health, and want to give thanks for his safety by giving to others.

I am the president of the Goshen school board and greatly appreciate your delivery of bears after the horrific accident that took three of our students. They were very comforting. Thank you so very much.

I want to thank you for your thoughtful donation of teddy bears to our grieving community. in a time of such unbearable heartache it was a comfort for these children (and adults) to have something to hold onto and hug. I am a teacher from Goshen middle school. I've attended two funerals, and have 1 more to attend, of my former students who were tragically killed in a car accident. I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the 200 bears that you donated. I passed some of them out to other Goshen students. May God bless you always! โ™กโ™กโ™ก

As many know, my home town was destroyed by a twin set of ef4 tornadoes on June 16 ... Today, I went to visit the volunteers working handing out donations, and one of them handed my 3 year old son a teddy bear .. Reality hit me, that my town and everything i had grown up with was gone. I was overwhelmed seeing how many people have really come together to help Pilger and the surrounding areas. My aunt's house was completely destroyed, and my 3 year old tried building her a new one out of legos. he was devastated. i don't think you really understand how much just this simple teddy bear meant to him. thank you, from him, from me, and from all residents of the area. <3

My family and i are forever grateful to the comfort that this organization brings. We were presented with the bears during a very tragic loss in our family and community. I see my bear everyday, it hurts to see its reminder less and less, because its slowly being replaced by the unbelievable love that has literally come from so many beautiful people. Thank you for changing lives!

Thank you so much for sending bears to our children at Chardon High School. It is amazing how a little stuffed animal can bring so much comfort during a tragic time. Both of my children were in the high school at the time of the shooting and knowing how people all over the country care, brings tears of happiness. Thank you again. Kathy

Thank you for the bears and lifting the kids spirits up! The smiles that I love to see are returning to many faces (especially coming up with a name for the bear so he feels apart of being a true Hilltopper)

We are so grateful here at Chardon High for the teddy bears! Simple things like this show us that people care and are here for us in this difficult time. I know it made me feel so much better as well as many others. Everyone loves them. The simple words "thank you" cannot express our gratitude, but unfortunately, it is all I can say through this small entry. So, thank you! One Heartbeat <3

My daughter was in that room where the shooting happened and being handed that Teddy Bear this morning in that room put a much needed smile on her face. She has not let go of her Teddy Bear. Thank you so much for doing what you do. You make a huge difference in peoples lives.
