Delaney’s Story

Delaney Deborah Wadsworth Was Born On March 26, 2007 Near Rawlins, Wyoming. She Was A Very Loved, Happy & Outgoing Little Girl. Known As “Laneybug” Delaney Was All About Giving Hugs & Putting Smiles On All Those Around Her. She Loved Painting With Mommy & Being Outdoors With Daddy.

On July 3, 2010 The Lives Of Jason & Brenna Wadsworth Would Change Forever. They Took Delaney Into The Doctor Because They Thought She Might Have An Ear Infection. Shortly After, Delaney Was Taken To A Hospital In Greeley, Colorado Where A CT Scan Was Done. Little Did They Know The News They Were About To Get Would Change Their Lives Forever.

Delaney Was Diagnosed With A Rare Brain Cancer Known As Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. (DIPG) The Tumor Is Found In The Middle Of the Brain Stem So It’s Deemed Inoperable. Delaney Completed A 5 Day High Dosage, Experimental Radiation Treatment. The Results Were So Good That It Opened The Door For Other Children Who Suffer From DIPG. Although The Results Were Good, Delaney Was Only Given A 5% Chance Of Living Past One Year.

Over The Next Few Months Jason & Brenna Made Sure Every Single Day Of Delaney’s Life Was Special. Delaney Wanted To Raise A Farm So She Got Some Animals & Her Little Pet Pig, She Named Wilbur.

In Between Raising Her Animals, Delaney Took Trips To Legoland, Disney World, Cheered For Two High Schools, Attended Events & Ever Married Buzz Lightyear.

As Time Went On The Cancer Began To Take Over. Jason & Brenna Will Never Forget The Look On Delaney’s Face When She Realized She Could No Longer Walk. When She Was No Longer Able To Speak, They Taught Her Sign Language. At Only 3 Years Old Delaney Accepted Her Fate & Was Ready To Go To Heaven.

The Weekend Of March 12, 2011 Jason & Brenna Stayed Right Beside Delaney. They Knew The End Was Near & Didn’t Want To Miss One Second With Their Little Laneybug. Pumped With Morphine, Delaney Would Come & Go Out Of A Coma. Before Slipping Back Into A Coma For The Final Time Delaney Pointed At Herself Then Up To The Sky. The Very Last Thing She Signed Was “I Love You”.

Delaney Passed Away The Sunday March 13, 2011 In The Arms Of Her Mommy, Beside Her Daddy & Surrounded By Many More Loved Ones.

Although Delaney Was On The Earth For Three Short Years, She Taught Many People The True Meaning Of Life. Her Dying Wish Was For Everyone To “Hug” & “Forgive”.

Delaney’s Memory Will Live On. Will You Help Make Sure Her Wish Does The Same?
