Henry’s 4th Unitarian Universalist Church

My chapter is supported by my church and the kids in my Sunday School. I made a presentation to the parents and to the Faith in Action Committee. My church is the 4th Unitarian Universalist Church on Central Park West at 76th St. Everyone thought that helping kids in crisis was a great idea. I told them about my teacher, Sue Lucarelli, and what it was like when we got bears after 9/11. The bears sure helped us a lot, gave us something to hug when we really needed it. So I want to help other kids who are scared now and so do my friends.

We are going to give bears to Project Nova (that means “No Violence Again”)… It’s a project that offers counseling to victims of domestic abuse. It’s located in a shelter at 2720 Broadway at 104th St, NYC. There are about 100 families that use the shelter each month… so maybe we can help some of the kids, if not all of them. The person in charge is Nellie Harris who works with Volunteers of America and she is really excited about the bears.

We’re all pretty excited. I’ll tell you more later.

These youngster’s are members of the Unitarian Universalist Church on Central Park West and 79th. In addition to the 300+ bears that are going to Sri Lanka, they have bagged and tagged bears for a local NOVA shelter nearby.
