A North Shore Story

14 yr. old girl whose dad has cancer… Daughter went to camp as was his wish, but dad took a turn for the worst and he wanted to see her. She was very fearful of what he would look like, how he would be feeling when she walked into his room.
She became very teary and nurse Joane Turnier and child life specialist, Sharon Grandville provided her with a "huggy bear."

The huggy bear became a "linking object between child and dad, a perfect fit… she was able to walk into the room and offered the bear for dad to hug too. That sharing of the bear hug, brought them both through a very difficult time and became a wonderful memory as she left the hospital with her bear."
