One of our Thousand Points of Light, Presidential Service Award winners is Katie Stainkamp, from Locust Valley, NY.

Katie organized teddy bear collection drives throughout the Oyster Bay School system, tagged over 300 of the bears and readied them for distribution. The many hours of work, the enthusiastic response to the needs of traumatized children around the country was evident in Katie’s response to our request for help.
